iCorps Technologies Honored As MHT “Tech Citizen”

by iCorps Technologies

BOSTON, MA – (November 21, 2008)

Mass High Tech, The Journal of New England Technology, has recognized iCorps Technologies among its 2008 Tech Citizenship award recipients. Now in its 8th year, the MHT Tech Citizenship award recognizes the region's top technology companies giving back to their communities.

This year, 22 technology companies from New England were honored for their corporate philanthropy and focus on partnering with local charities.

“We are thrilled to be honored once again for this very important award. We are also pleased to be part of this elite group of technology companies that recognize the value and importance of helping those less fortunate than ourselves,” says iCorps Technologies CEO and President, Mike Hadley.

This year’s Tech Citizenship award-winning companies donated at least ½ of 1 percent of gross revenue, or a minimum of $500,000 in total value, to nonprofit causes in 2007.

"Difficult as it may be in the current economy, the private sector must be even more creative, and more generous, in helping its nonprofit neighbors do the work they do: reaching and keeping society’s weakest members from falling through the ever-widening cracks of society," said Douglas Banks, editor of Mass High Tech. “This year’s group of Tech Citizens, our largest ever, is an example of just how dedicated the technology industry is in being a good corporate partner in such an important challenge.”

The Tech Citizenship award winners were honored in a breakfast at the Museum of Science Boston and profiled in the November 21, 2008, edition of Mass High Tech.

"We began these awards because we wanted to combat what was once a prevailing stereotype that the tech industry doesn’t step up when it comes to philanthropy. Once again, I think we’ve shown that – through creative efforts including in-kind donations and volunteerism – it does," said Michael Olivieri, publisher of Mass High Tech.
